H2020-funded project SocialWatt was presented around disccusions on the energy poverty condition in Greece on the 15th of February 2020.
5 experts participated in a TV show presented by the Hellenic Parliament TV and discussed the current situation in Greece and other European countries. Over 50 million Europeans are facing the energy poverty and are not able to cover electricity bills and their heating and cooling requirements in households.
It was highlighted that synergies among relevant parties (i.e energy utilities, local authorities, universities, research centers) should be promoted.
Under this scope and EU funded actions plans, SocialWatt presented its partners and how its objectives will help towards the alleviation of energy poverty. The SocialWatt tools that are being developed will be used by the European utilities who will build their capacity and effectively engage with their customers and implement schemes that aim to alleviate energy poverty.
